Professional Wedding Pictures and Catch up
Well, it sure has been a long time. As you may notice I am terrible at updating this thing! But that is one thing I am hoping to change this year. Since switching jobs in September and all the other things going on in my life I've had a hard time keeping in touch with all of you. So I am hoping that I can make posting at least a weekly priority to keep everyone up to date! Dresses are in!
Yay! Dresses are in! I think everyone should have recieved their dress by now. Please try it on and let me know if there are any problems.
Shoes - For the girls who asked me to order their shoes, I was able to call all over the country and find them, yay! Apparently, they were very popular this season and each shoe came from a different location!! But they all have been ordered and are being sent to me. I will either give them to you at the Bluefield shower, the bachelorette weekend or I will mail them to you if you are unable to make it to either event. As mentioned in the Bridesmaid's Bulletin the total is $66, you can give that to me at your convenience.
Speaking of the newsletter, please make sure you get your sign up sheet to me, I need to know who needs nail appointments and hair appointments for the day of the wedding. I met with the hair stylist last week and I think our day will begin at the salon around 11:00 am, but that could change as I get your sign up sheets, so stand by until I have a final count. Also, please let me know if your man would like to participate in the golf outing that is being organized. Because of the season golf courses are very busy, so the sooner I have a count the better.
Lastly, I hope all of you recieved your invitation to the Couples Shower in Bluefield April 19th, there were reports of some invites taking forever to reach their destination and my aunt actually has still not recieved hers, any hoo.... I know it will not be possible for some of you to make it, but if you are planning on coming to Bluefield please let me know, between my parents house and my aunt and uncle up the street, we have plenty of accomodations and would love to have you all!

Update!
Ooo I almost forgot! I just wanted to let you all know that I have decided to bring the Leaf accent of either the sash or the double hem back to the bridesmaids dresses. Megan went to the Aria showroom in DC and tried on the dress and the sash really does make the dress! So I apologize for any confusion. Here is a pic of her in the dress!! This is not the style she is ordering, just the dress that they had in the right color.

What I need from you...
Hey girls!
Many of you have asked what exactly I need from you to submit the dress orders. I need 3 things form each of you.
1. A check made out to ARIA Bridesmaids, LLC for the cost of your dress (make sure you use the silk shantung pricing) plus the $15 shipping fee. There is no tax.
2. Order form http://www.ariadress.com/HowToOrder.htm- please print, complete and sign your order form and the accompanying ordering agreement (if you wish to pay by debit card or credit card you can also include this information on the order form).
3. Your measurements, these should be included on you completed order form and ordering agreement. You can either have your tailor/seamstress measure you or you can do it your self. Info on measurements can be found here, http://www.ariadress.com/SizeAndMeasurement.htm
Please mail all of this information to me. If you have any questions or need my mailing address, please give me a call or email. I'll be glad to help you in any way I can.
Remember, dress orders and checks are due January 11th.

Merry Christmas!
Greetings all!
It's been a long time since my last post (sorry!) and I just wanted to check in and let you all know what's going on. I think I have decided to eliminate the Leaf accent on the bridesmaid's dresses and just go with Midnight. I'll be using plenty of green in the rest of the wedding and I think that this will work much better. It's almost time to order the bridesmaid's dresses, so if you need to request a sample to try on do it soon. If you already know what you want then just get your measurements to me with your check no later than January 11th.
Also, on the dress front, my dress came in a few weeks ago! It was much earlier than I had anticipated and I'm so excited to go back to Raleigh and try it on very soon!
I miss you all so much and wish I could see each of you over the holidays. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year!

Hi Girls! I am happy to report that the swatches for the Bridesmaids' dresses came in on Friday and the colors were dead on. So I've decided on Aria (http://www.ariadress.com/) for our BM dresses. The fabric is silk shantung and the colors are as shown below,

Here's the Deal
I want each of you to feel comfortable in your dress and also to have a dress that flatters YOU. There are over 20 designs you can choose from. You can choose any of the knee-length designs except, 105, 115, 144, and 183. Also I would prefer that only 2 bridesmaids have the same design, unless you all want the same dress. If you all decide on one style of dress that's fine, otherwise please work it out amongst yourselves what style you want. The body of the dress should be Midnight, but you can accessorize with Leaf any way you wish. A Leaf sash, double hem, both, only one or neither.
Ordering
All of your orders must be placed together. Once you decide which dress you want you can either request a sample be sent to you to try on (more info about this on the Aria web page) or you can just submit your measurements. You each will have to fill out an order form, sign it and mail it (with a check) to me. I will review each order form and submit them, with payment, all at one time.
When Do We Order?
Aria's web site says that most orders are completed within 12 weeks, but they urge you to submit your order 4 months in advance to allow for delays, alterations etc. Considering that June is the most popular wedding month I would like to send in our orders no later than Friday, January 11, 2008. That gives us 12 weeks for delivery and 2 months for you to have alterations made if necessary.

Introductions
Hi Ladies! As Megan so nicely pointed out to me, there may be some of you who don't know who your fellow bridesmaids are, so here are the introductions.
Stephanie Toney - Maid of Honor and my sister. All of you have met Steph at one time or another but just to refresh, Stephanie lives in Durham, NC and works for Duke Hospital. Here is a pic from this year's beach trip of Stephanie and her new BF Cameron, so cute!!
Jenn Birch - Jenn and I have been friends since about the second grade and have remained close since. Jenn lives in Birmingham, AL with her husband Michael, though they will be returning to Raleigh at the end of this year when Michael completes law school. Here is a picture of Jenn with her husband Michael.
Lauren Newton - Lauren and I were fellow interns and roomies in Raleigh in the Spring of 2003. Lauren has just began her second year at UNC Law and is glad that the wedding is now one week later as it gives her that much more time to recover from exams! Here is Lauren doing what she does best, striking a pose!
Gray Peretti - Gray and I have been friends for the last 6 years. She knows me so well sometimes I think she may have access to my thoughts, ha ha! Gray lives in Bluefield, WV with her husband of almost 5 years, Anthony. As you can see Gray and Anthony also REALLY miss the 80's!
Megan Pinnell - Megan and I were sorority sisters at Elon. She lives and works in NoVa and not so secretly wishes to move to the Carolinas to be closer to me and the beach! Here is a photo of me, Meg and Stu, the night after we were engaged!
And last but not least,

The Dress...
I know you all are anxious to know what the bridesmaids' dresses are going to look like, where to get them etc. I am definitely making some progress in this area and want you all to know that I'll be posting something very soon. I am waiting on some fabric samples before I make any announcements. I should have them by the first of next week and will be sure to let you know as soon as I do.
Does anyone have any questions or concerns about the dress? Have you seen something you think I/we might like? Please leave a comment or shoot me an email, I'd love to hear your suggestions and see what you all might have found on your own. Oh, and by the way, the colors for the wedding are Navy and Green.

Welcome to Sarah and Stu's wedding blog! My intent in creating this blog was to give my bridesmaids a place where they can communicate and get to know one another. It's also a great place for me to share news and updates about the wedding with all of our friends and family. I hope you all find this as useful as I do. I can't wait to get started!
